Due to popular demand, here’s the next installment of Dueling Anvils for "Arctic". Recall that the Chlois Theory is the theory that Chloe Sullivan is actually iconic Lois Lane in disguise (no morphing necessary).
In the previous installments I looked at the pro and anti ILL anvils for both Chloe and Lois in the following episodes: "Kara", "Action", "Wrath", "Blue", "Gemini", "Siren", "Veritas", "Descent", and "Apocalypse".
"Arctic" , the Season 7 finale, had some interesting anvils.
Pro-Chloe is ILL Anvils
- Clark says that sometimes people don’t turn out to be what you thought they were. Like perhaps wearing a disguise of a best friend but really being the girl of his dreams ("Fever")?
- Chloe investigates Teague’s whereabouts and gives Clark the 411 on Teague’s plane going down. She’s even managed to get at the black box recordings.
- Clark asks Chloe to help him subdue Kara. Chloe doesn’t hesitate to face a Kryptonian if that’s what Clark needs her to do. Clark and Chloe trust each other implicitly.
- Clark says he’ll be by Chloe’s side when she confronts Kara (of course, Chloe convinces him otherwise).
- Brainiac remembers Chloe. She’s always sticking her pretty little head where it doesn’t belong. Like when she helped Clark defeat Brainy in “Solitude”.
- The scene at the hospital when Clark comes into Chloe’s room is reminiscent of Superman going to see Lois at the hospital. Check it out here.
- Chloe is arrested by the DDS in front of Jimmy just as Lois Lane was arrested in front of Jimmy in the AU in "Apocalypse".
- When Chloe is in trouble (arrested), she knows she can count on Clark to help her.
Anti-Chloe is ILL Anvils
- After trying to kill Chloe, Brainiac asks Chloe what the heck she is. Chloe’s meteor power managed to depower Brainiac apparently.
- Jimmy asks Chloe to marry him (This could also be seen as a pro-anvil as Jimmy has proposed to Lois in some incarnations).
Pro-Lois is ILL Anvils
- Lex is concerned about Lois asking too many questions. He blackmails Jimmy to help keep her off his back (Jimmy? Really? Er, should that be a pro- or anti-anvil?)
- Clark makes Lois promise to be careful if she’s going to continue to work for Lex. Is that a pro- or anti-anvil? Is this foreshadowing to this Lois meeting her end at the hands of a Lex minion? I miss you, Gina!
- Lex tries to blackmail Jimmy to spy on Lois.
- Lois consoles Clark after he views Lana’s break-up video.
- Lois disses farming as a profession by implying Clark is wasting his life on the farm. This is very movie Lois (thanks, Tobywolf13).
Anti-Lois is ILL Anvils
- Lois forgets about family loyalty and ignores the unjust firing Chloe by Lex when she suggests Clark apply for the position left open inadvertently by Chloe’s firing.
- In what universe does Lois Lane push Clark to work with her at the Daily Planet?
- Lois does her work for the Planet at a nightclub?! She says that it’s because she’s investigating Lex (her boss!). But Lex wouldn’t approve of Lois spying on him on Planet dime. Lois should be doing her "extracurricular investigating" after hours and, preferably, not at a club.
- Lois drinks beer on the job?!
- Lois buys Jimmy’s lies hook, line and sinker.
- In dissing farming as a profession, Lois insulted Jonathan and Martha who were farming for decades and gave her room, board, and three separate jobs - waitress at the Talon, campaign manager, and Chief of Staff (thanks, Tobywolf13)

Good list.
I would also put down Lois drinking beer while on the job as an Anti-EDLois anvil.
Thank you and I've added it. :)
Um, what version of Lois Lane hasn't made fun of Clark the farmboy and what does family loyalty have to do with her being ILL?
Okay, she's rude. What did you expect? She's Lois Lane
You don't like her, that's fine. But being ignorant of Chloe's feelings has nothing to do with her being ILL.

This Lois has lived in Smallville for 4 years and lived with the Kents for ~1 year. She knows what it takes to be a farmer. She still disses it. It's also silly that she calls Clark "Smallville" when she lives in Smallville.
Great anvils but they fall flat in this instance.

Turning a blind eye to an unjust firing is not ILL-like. ILL would jump to defend anyone against injustice.

Like how in the comics when Lex Luthor unjustly fired her husband and everyone else at the DP, she showed her loyalty by continuing to work for him?
Why can't this apply to Lois on SV since references from the comics are also used as ProChlois anvils?

Lois showed her loyalty to Lex over her husband? Lois remained at the Planet to try to fix it. Not because she lacked the perception to realize it was screwed up, and not because she lacked empathy for the people who were hurt. The character who generally takes the long term view in Smallville is Chloe.
