From Portait magazine:
"When rumours started flying about as to who would be returning for season 8 of Smallville, it was interesting to note that fans were more concerned about Clark's best friend and confidant Chloe Sullivan, not returning over his sweetheart Lana Lang.
The fans passionate rallying for Chloe demonstrates just how pivotal Chloe and Allison are to show and just how far they've come along. No one could have ever predicted just how adored Allison's character would have become and her popularity is a testament to the warmth and dimension that Allison brings to the character."
Now how cool is that!
